The SMA Sunny Island is a grid-forming battery inverter that can be used for the construction of stand-alone power supply systems.
Based on the proven off-grid technology in the Sunny Island 6048 inverters provide a 20% increase in power output. Peak production is guaranteed at a maximum efficiency of 96%, which reduces the need for diesel and enables the PV array to be lower in size.
System sizing is made more versatile by the new Sunny Island, which has two distinct power ratings. Additionally, multicluster technology allows for the integration of up to 12 Sunny Islands into off-grid power systems with a capacity of 100kW.
